Why ByFavour exists

The Bible is filled with extraordinary people whose stories are rarely told — women who showed impossible courage, ordinary men and women who were chosen in their weakness, heroes who never made it onto Sunday school flannel boards.

ByFavour was created to bring those stories back to life. To make the Word of God accessible, intimate, and transformative — especially for those who are just beginning to discover it, and for women of faith who are ready to go deeper than the familiar narratives.

Every ebook is written not as a theological textbook, but as an encounter — with a real person, a real struggle, and a real God who shows up in the most unexpected places.

The story behind the stories

ByFavour didn't begin as a business idea. It began with a personal journey — a combination of my own walk with God, a calling I couldn't ignore, and a realisation that the resources I was looking for simply didn't exist in the way I needed them.

I grew up in a Christian home, surrounded by the Bible from an early age. But growing up with something and truly knowing it are very different things. For a long time the Word was familiar — comfortable even — but not yet transformative.

That began to change when a quiet, persistent hunger started growing in me. Not a dramatic moment or a single encounter, but a deepening desire to know God more intimately — to move beyond what I had inherited and discover faith as something truly my own.

It was in that season that the writing began.

I had always felt a calling to write but never quite knew where to direct it. Then one day, sitting with the stories of kings who had walked closely with God only to drift from Him — Pharaoh, Saul, Solomon, Jeroboam, Rehoboam — I realised these were not just historical accounts. They were mirrors. Warnings written in grace for anyone willing to read them.

That first series, Kings Who Fell From God's Favour, became the foundation of ByFavour. It was followed by a second series — Unexpected Heroes of the Old Testament — where I began unearthing the stories of people who never sought the spotlight but whom God used profoundly. Jael. Shiphrah and Puah. Gideon. Ordinary people. Extraordinary faith.

ByFavour exists because these stories deserve to be told — and because somewhere out there is a new believer, a woman in a Bible study group, a person quietly hungry for God, who needs to hear them. I write for that person. I write because I was that person.
